Grand Opening of A Christmas Story House & Museum’s Expanded Gift Shop and Beautiful New Landscaping

CLEVELAND – November 12, 2013 – After more than a year of construction and renovation, the House from A Christmas Story is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newly expanded Gift Shop and stunning new landscaping on Friday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. The public and media are warmly invited to join us in celebrating the culmination of three years of meticulous planning and hard work at our ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Originally opened in 2006, the gift shop began in a small room within the Museum of A Christmas Story. Due to overwhelming demand, it was relocated next door to a modest 900 sq. ft. house, with only 500 sq. ft. dedicated to retail space. Recognizing the need for more room, Klaus Home Improvement commenced the extensive renovation in the fall of 2012. Today, the gift shop boasts a spacious 3,500 sq. ft., quadrupling its previous size to better accommodate visitors.

The grand opening will also feature the unveiling of the new landscaping and hardscape project, beautifully executed by Schill Landscaping. This enhancement is designed to improve visitor flow, create open seating areas, and beautify the neighborhood, making the House from A Christmas Story an even more enjoyable destination.

The House from A Christmas Story is conveniently located just five minutes from downtown Cleveland at 3159 W. 11th St. in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. Open year-round, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Guided tours of the house run every 30 minutes. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors, $6.00 for children ages 7 to 12, and free for children ages 6 and under.
