Digital Tickets & Admission Policy
If you arrive without a digital ticket, please locate one of the tour signs shown below and scan the QR code. This will direct you to our website (redriderleglamps.com) where you can purchase tickets.
As of January 1st, paper tickets are no longer accepted for admission to the House and Museum, unless an expiration date is stamped on the back. Only early 2024-issued tickets include this expiration date.
Guided Tours
If you have purchased a digital ticket for a guided tour, please arrive at the House from A Christmas Story 10 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Late admission is not permitted. If you arrive late, please visit our gift shop, and we will do our best to accommodate you on the next available tour.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Full refunds are available if requested at least three weeks before your reservation date. If you cancel within three weeks of your reservation or after your scheduled time, you will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued if your request is made more than 30 days after your reservation date. Please note that the service fee is non-refundable.

Closures
The House from A Christmas Story, Museum and Gift Shop are closed: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. In addition, we are closed the last 2 full weeks in February for yearly maintenance.
Live Streaming and Recording
Please DO NOT record or live stream during guided tours. Such activities are disruptive to your fellow guests’ enjoyment of the tour experience. We reserve the right to remove any guests who do not comply with this request. Such activities are welcome outside of the guided tour experience.



Group Tours
January – October
Groups of all sizes are welcome to visit and may purchase tickets online just like regular guests.
- All bookings must be made using a valid credit card.
- For groups larger than 40 guests (including drivers, chaperones, etc.), we recommend splitting into equal groups and reserving consecutive tour times.
November – December (Peak Season)
Private group tours are not available during our holiday season. Please review the information below when planning your visit:
Self-Guided Tour Days
- Tickets should be purchased online in advance.
- Entry times are not guaranteed; selected times act as placeholders if there is a line.
- A maximum of 40 guests are allowed inside the House at one time.
- Groups larger than 40 must split up and should not expect to enter or tour together.
- If there is a line, all guests (including groups) will wait like regular visitors.
Guided Tour Days
- Tickets should be purchased online for available tour times.
- Groups larger than 40 must split into equal groups and book consecutive tours.
- Tours run approximately 45–50 minutes.
- Please arrive 15–20 minutes early to allow time for unloading and gathering your group.
- Tickets are scanned at the House beginning 5 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time.
- Tours start promptly. Late arrivals will be accommodated on the next available tour when possible.
Planning Your Visit
- For self-guided experiences, we recommend allowing 2–3 hours to enjoy the House, Museum, and Gift Shop.
- All properties are adjacent for easy access during your visit.
- Public restrooms are available inside the Gift Shop.
- Parking is available on surrounding public streets. Please note that we do not offer reserved parking for buses or large vehicles.
