CLEVELAND – Oct. 30, 2006 – Fans of the beloved 1983 holiday classic “A Christmas Story” now have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the charm of Ralphie Parker’s world. Beginning Nov. 25, 2006, the iconic house featured in the film will open its doors to visitors, offering an inside look at the timeless setting that has captivated audiences for decades.

Located at 3159 W. 11th Street in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, The House from A Christmas Story has been meticulously restored to mirror its on-screen appearance. Visitors can explore the house and relive cherished moments from the film, from the infamous leg lamp proudly displayed in the front window to the backyard where Ralphie nearly “shot his eye out” with his Red Ryder BB gun.

“The house’s grand opening coincides with Cleveland’s annual Winterfest celebration, marking a perfect start to the holiday season,” said Brian Jones, owner of the House from A Christmas Story. “It’s an honor to bring fans this unique experience, especially during such a festive time of year.” Notable actors from the film, including Ian Petrella (Randy), Scott Schwartz (Flick), and Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), will be present to celebrate the grand opening and meet with fans.

In addition to touring the house, guests can visit the accompanying museum located directly across the street at 1103 Rowley Ave. The museum boasts an extensive collection of over 100 behind-the-scenes photos and items donated by the cast. Highlights include Ian Petrella’s original snowsuit and toy zeppelin. Visitors can also browse a gift shop offering memorabilia such as leg lamps, T-shirts, and pink bunny suits.

Brian Jones, a former Navy intelligence officer and a passionate fan of the film, purchased the house on eBay without ever having visited Cleveland. Since 2003, he has sold over 6,500 leg lamps through his online business, www.RedRiderLegLamps.com. His commitment to restoring the house to its former glory has been a labor of love, funded largely by the success of his leg lamp sales.

The House from A Christmas Story will be open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. After Jan. 16, 2007, the hours will change to Thursdays through Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children, with group discounts available. The price includes a guided tour of both the house and the museum.
