The House from Christmas Story Acquires Iconic Neighboring Property

CLEVELAND – April 11, 2018 – The House from A Christmas Story is thrilled to announce the acquisition of the property at 3153 W. 11th Street, famously known to fans as the home of Ralphie Parker’s hillbilly neighbors, the Bumpuses, and their notorious 785 smelly hound dogs. These mischievous Bumpus Hounds are well-remembered for tormenting Ralphie’s Old Man and stealing the family’s Christmas turkey.

Since launching overnight rentals at the House from A Christmas Story in June 2017, the experience has become a favorite for both local and out-of-town guests. “With the addition of the Bumpus House, we are excited to offer our visitors even more unique lodging options,” said Brian Jones, founder and owner of the House from A Christmas Story. “We continuously strive to enhance the experience of visiting Ralphie’s House on Cleveland Street.”

The Bumpus House was previously owned by Joyce Seagro until her passing in October 2016. Joyce resided in the home during the filming of A Christmas Story and its sequel, My Summer Story, where the house was prominently featured as the Bumpus family residence.
