A Christmas Story House & Museum Backgrounder

The House
Opened in 2006 by Brian Jones, A Christmas Story House welcomes visitors through the home of the Parker family, now restored to the original movie appearance. The house is completely interactive so guests can recreate their favorite movie scenes, such as taking photos by the leg lamp with a replica bb-gun, climbing under the kitchen sink like little brother Randy, or decoding a secret message in the bathroom while washing their mouths out with Lifebuoy soap!

The Museum
In 2006, Brian Jones also purchased the house across the street and converted it into A Christmas Story Museum, which contains many of the props from the movie including the family car, toys from the Higbee’s window, the chalkboard from Miss Shields’ classroom and an “Official Red Ryder Carbine Action, 200-shot, Range Model Air Rifle” bb-gun (one of only six produced for the film).

The Gift Shop
Next to the museum, the gift shop features 3,500 square feet of movie memorabilia and holiday collectibles, including leg lamps and bunny suits.  The gift shop handles online sales through a warehouse and fulfillment facility located off site.
